Livelihood Protection System（生活保護制度）

In the Livelihood Protection System the government provides those who are destitute with the cost of living necessary to guarantee a minimum standard of life as well as offering support to help them support themselves.
Welfare benefits may be paid if the use of alternative systems and one’s own efforts do not bring about a minimum standard of life.

　生活保護制度とは、国が暮らしに困っている方々に対して、最低限度の生活を保障するために必要な生活費の給付を行うとともに、自らの力で生活していけるよう支援を行う制度です。
　生活保護は、他の制度利用や自ら努力をしても最低限の生活を営めない場合に受給が可能となります。
