Light Automobile Tax（軽自動車税）

The light automobile tax is charged to people who own or use motorbikes or light automobiles on April 1. People who owned cars on April 1 will be levied for the same tax year. The due date for payment of Light Automobile Tax is May 31st (if this date is a holiday, the due date will be the next day or the following working day).
Unlike motor vehicle tax, there is no refund that can be worked out on monthly basis.
Please carry out registrations immediately when a light automobile that you own is sold or transferred to somebody else’ possession.

　軽自動車税は、毎年4月1日現在でバイクや軽自動車等を所有または使用する人に課税されます。軽自動車税の納期限は、5月31日（休日の場合は、翌日または翌々日）です。
　なお、自動車税と異なって、月割計算による還付はありません。
　所有する軽自動車等に異動が生じたときは、速やかに手続きを行ってください。
